In this Episode, The Mother Rising is joined by Lisa Joyce Goes, co-founder of The Thinking Mom’s Revolution. photoLisa will describe how she found her very powerful and outspoken voice as an advocate for families and children challenged with iatrogenic autism and environmental illness in the face of harsh criticism and backlash from both her immediate and the medical communities. We will see the similarities in her transformative opportunity through becoming a Thinking Mom with going through divorce and also discuss the high divorce rate within the autism community and challenges of parenting when the children have health issues involving special care. Lisa is incredibly inspirational and her dedication and commitment to children and families dealing with iatrogenic autism and environmental illness is very empowering. She’s a wonderful representative of being an everyday super hero!

About Lisa Joyce Goes

Lisa Joyce Goes is co-founder of The Thinking Moms’ Revolution social thought movement, and co-author of The Thinking Moms’ Revolution book. She recently stepped down from her position as vice president of public relations for the Thinking Moms’ to act as Board President for Team TMR, a nonprofit seeking to assist parents in search of services and treatment for their children with iatrogenic autism and environmental illness. She is a Contributing editor to the Age of Autism and a human rights panelist for the Academy of Excellence in Learning in the south Chicago suburbs. She resides in Illinois with her husband, Dave and their three children.

About Margaret Jacobson

After 17 years of marriage and 3 children, Margaret Jacobson divorced. Margaret had to summon the strength to haul her booty out of her ex’s family home and commute 60 miles each day to see her children. Through her personal transformation, Margaret created a well-rounded approach to empowering herself through mental, physical, emotional and spiritual behavior changes. She has a BA in Neuroscience, and a MA in Health Services Administration. Margaret is a certified Wellness Coach and has completed a 2-year women’s empowerment program in the Dianic Aloha tradition. At present, Margaret is Acting Minister of the Interior of YAO Company, a company that provides pure simple Chinese medicine for those who want a holistic approach to health and wellness. Margaret regularly writes for The Mother Rising blog, and the YourTango Experts page. Margaret is our very own creator of The Mother Rising radio show!
